Queensland Museum, Creative producer and Mother of INVENTory
WORKSHOP: RE-INVENT YOUR MUSEUM
The INVENTory at the Queensland Museum (Australia) is an ever-evolving space, attracting all ages into immersive, tangible, and multi-modal activity. Constructed and curated using, recycled, reclaimed and sustainable materials, the INVENTory is a living ‘organism’ with programs that encourage self-directed learning. Suzanne Misso, Creative Producer, at the Queensland Museum, and Mother of INVENTory, presents a one hour master class for people who like to take a lateral approach to museum engagement. This workshop explores the elements of Public Engagement in museums that can create exciting, surprising experiences for all ages. Using e-waste as the theme, participants incorporate design thinking methods to play, question and create relevant programs for a diverse community.
Suzanne Misso considers herself to be a multi functional artist and inventor of new ways to present creative thinking to a wide range of audiences. She currently works as a Creative Producer at the Queensland Museum in Brisbane, Australia, where she designs and curates new programs that have relevance to science, cultures and stories. She manages a team at QM that develop and deliver educational programs, events and projects for all ages that have a strong community and sustainable focus.
